704. THIS SOLICITATION IS RESTRICTED TO GENERAL CONTRACTORS PREVIOUSLY
PRE-QUALIFIED UNDER SOLICITATION 193045-96-A-0018. The U.S. Postal
Service is soliciting proposals for a new construction owned facility
to be called Monticello Branch, Shawnee, KS. Description of the work
is: The site is located north and west of the intersection of Shawnee
Mission Parkway and Monticello Road. It is bounded on the north by the
proposed 66th Street and on the south by Shawnee Mission Parkway. The
extention of 66th Street from Monticello Road to the west side of the
site and installation of off-site utilities are the responsibility of
the developer (sellor) and will be completed prior to the start of
this project in accordance with the following schedule: Construction of
66th Street and the off-site storm sewer will be completed no later
than September 1, 1996. Street lights and permanent power will be in
place no later than October 1, 1996. The remaining utilities, including
sanitary sewer, water, gas and telephone, will be installed no later
than November 1, 1996. The project consists of a one-story facility of
approximately 21,800 GSF of building area including suspended lookout
gallery (LOG) system, mechanical mezzanine and a covered mail platform
of approximately 2,600 GSF. The building consists of concrete
foundations, concrete slab-on-grade floors, steel column and roof
framing system, exterior face brack and stone veneer on metal studs,
roof insulation and unballasted, single-ply roof membrane on metal
deck, plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems,
water, electrical and sanitary systems. Site size is approximately
194,446 SF. Site work includes grading, storm water drainage system,
lighting, parking areas and access drives, landscaping and irrigation
