Z -- REPLACE ROOFS ON BLDGS. 1, 3 & 5 SOL IFB 556-24-96 DUE 091896 POC Contracting Officer, Pamela Smith (847) 578-3722 Contractor shall provide the necessary material, equipment, tools, supplies, labor, services and supervision to replace the existing slate roofs, gutters and fascia on Buildings 1, 3 and 5 at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, North Chicago, Illinois. Work includes removing all gutters, downspouts, aluminum clad fascia, wood cornices and fascia, existing slate roofs, including underlayment and flashing, replace damaged or rotted sheathing, and provide and install new copper gutters, downspouts, and slate roofs, including underlayment and flashing. Estimated cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The completion time for this project is 240 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. A bid guarantee is required in an amount, not less than 20% of the bid price. This is a unrestricted procurement available to all responsible sources. A site visit is scheduled for 9/09/96 at 10:00am local time, and all bidders are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed.
