National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement for 5,000
alkaline batteries for use in powering the Motorola MT2000 series
portable radio. Alkaline batteries are generally considered the most
viable for the Motorola radio, but other battery technologies will be
considered. However, mercury and lithium technologies are unacceptable
due to environmental concerns. Delivery is F.O.B. Destination NIFC
Fire Warehouse, Boise, Idaho. Half of delivery due on or before
December 10, 1996 and other half due on or before January 10, 1997.
This requirement is unrestricted. See note 26. All responsible sources
