J -- MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR ESIG 4000 IMAGE GENERATOR SOL USZA22-96-R-0054 DUE 091996 POC Major Roberta Burke, Contracting Officer (813) 840-5483 The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Special Operations Acquisition Center, Procurement Directorate plans to issue a solicitation, on a sole-source basis, to Evans & Sutherland for the maintenance of the ESIG 4000 Image Generator. The ESIG 4000 a modern, fielded, external environment for the Special Operations forces Aircrew Training System (SOFATS). The ESIG 4000 will be used in both the Weapons System Trainers (WST) and the Mission Rehearsal Devices (MRD) for the MC-130E/H, MH47E and MH60K aircraft owned and operated by USSOCOM Component units. The contractor will be responsible for repair and replacement of existent spare parts (produced by Evan & Sutherland), sustainment modifications and supplying additional spare parts. The intended source is Evan & Sutherland pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, ''Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements''.
