Correctional Complex, Coleman, Florida intends to award multiple
indefinite quantity contracts to hospitals within a seventy-five mile
radius of the institution for medical services to include: inpatient,
room and board, ancillary services, outpatient services, medically
necessary professional services as appropriate in a comprehensive
package as requested. The hospital(s) shall make available on a
nondiscriminatory basis, inpatient and outpatient services, in a manner
consistent with the medical needs of the patients in accordance with
medical standards for quality and cost effective patient care. The
preferred pay ment methodology for these services (which will receive
preference in both award and patient referrals) is the Medicare
reimbursement methodologies in effect at the time services were
performed. All services (usually outpatient), not covered by Medicare,
shall be charged as low or lower than those charged the hospital's
most favored customer for comparable quantities under similar terms and
conditions. The medical care will be for inmates incarcerated at the
Federal Correctional Complex, 846 NE 54th Terrace, Coleman FL
33521-1029. Hospitals are requested to contact the contracting officer
listed in this notice. All requests for solicitation packages or
information must be in writing and include the RFP number, specific
information about the location of your medical facility, and the name
of the contact person and telephone number. The location of the
facility shall be within the seventy-five mile radius of the Coleman,
Florida area. The estimated issue date of the Request for Proposal is
August 01, 1996 with an anticipated receipt of proposal date of
September 16, 1996. The contract period will include a base year not to
exceed twelve (12) months with four (4) one year option periods for
renewal. The estimated inpatient days and outpatient visits are
recorded below: Base year minimum 25, maximum 250 inpatient days;
minimum 10, maximum 100 outpatient visits; option year one (1) minimum
27, maximum 275 inpatient days, minimum 10, maximum 100 outpatient
visits; option year two (2) minimum 30, maximum 300 inpatient days,
minimum 12, maximum 125 outpatient visits; option year three (3)
minimum 32, maximum 325 inpatient days, minimum 12, maximum 125
outpatient visits; option year four (4) minimum 35, maximum 350
