The project is an elevator upgrade at the VMF, Oklahoma City, OK 73125-9998. Replace existing controller, selector and motor generator with a microprocessor control and Static SCR drive. Include firefighter service and on-board non-proprietary diagnostics in the microprocessor control. Include provisions for full automatic operation and key operated independent service switch in each car. Replace car gates and all hoistway doors, operators and related hardware with new modern units including new door and gate operators. Use a non-contact gate reopening device on the dates. Perform major maintenance on the joist machine and brake. This should include checking and adjusting backlash as well as visual inspection of the worm. Install new car enclosures and side rail to prevent hampers and truck from hitting the sides. General maintenance code improvements. 1 passenger and 3 freight elevators. This project will be awarded this fiscal year, but construction will not begin prior to January 15, 1997. Estimated cost range $325,000 - $375,000; and construction time is 120 calendar days. A 20% proposal bond is required. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payments. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on September 5, 1996. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in writing. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on August 6, 1996 at a cost of $25.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
