Z -- MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SOL MKE-96-0045. Contact Point, Mr. John McCrum, 414/297-1577, Contracting Officer. The General Services Administration is seeking sources to provide mechanical maintenance person(s) skilled in the operation of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning services. This person would be required to start up the environmental equipment, Monday through Friday, so that the building temperatures would be in the comfort zone by the time the occupants arrived for work. This would include starting of air handling units, pumps, centrifugal chiller unites, and/or purchased steam heat for the building systems. Equipment tours would also be necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment. This mechanic may also be required to answer environmental service calls requested by building occupants. Secondly, there would be times when a mechanic would be required to provide service, for an entire eight hour day, for a week or possibly more, when government personnel are on leave, training or emergency conditions, which would necessitate the need for an additional person. This would incorporate a number of aspects of work i.e. start up of equipment, service calls, monitoring of (computerized) energy management systems, tours and watches and shut down of same equipment.
