Clark (310) 725-7563 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a
requirement for the installation of two each 175 KW Engine Generators,
exhaust piping system and starting batteries, E/G control panel,
transfer switch, Load Bank control panel, 175 KW Avtron resistive Load
Bank, actuated damper, estg., hood and all new openings located at the
Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California. The
contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, transportation and
materials required to successfully complete this project. Work shall
consist of, but is not limited to the demolition of a 100 KW diesel
engine generator, E/G control cabinet and transfer switch, Load Bank
Control Panel, 100 KW resistive load bank and disconnect switch, E/G
remote radiator, motor and disc, switch, exhaust fan motor, damper and
hood. All work shall be in strict accordance with FAA plans and
specifications. The period of performance is established for forth-five
(45 calendar days). The period of performance is mandatory and shall be
performed within this time frame. The FAA shall supply copies of the
aforementioned solicitation to the first Ten (10) written requests
responding to this announcement. Solicitations shall be issued on a
''first come'' basis only. Interested Offerors have until August 14,
1996, to submit their requests in writing and may be FAXed to the
attention of Alice Clark, FAX number (310)536-8550. NO TELEPHONE
REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. A Screening Information Request (SIR)/Pre
Qualification Survey will be forwarded to the first Ten (10) requests
received, and shall be utilized to determine which potential bidders
are qualified to perform on this project. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) for this procurement is 3621 and includes the
estimated project amount is between $50,000 and $100,000. This notice

(DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to
any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding
Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and
performance bonds up to 1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an
80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Programs
(STLP), at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximun line of credit is $500,000. For further
