This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N55304-96-Q-0104 applies and is issued as a Request For Quotation. The Government intends to procure a sole source with Remote Ocean Systems for a fixed price contract for one line item as follows: Quantity: 2 each; Miniature TV Inspection System Model MCLS-91 consisting of: miniature camera Head(1.25'' diameter x 5.25'' long) with remote focus; miniature thinline camera control console w/19'' rack mount capability; miniature thinline camera cable assembly (350'). The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
