This is an ultra-high vacuum deposition chamber. It shall be configured for use as a silicon carbide (SiC) molecular beam expitaxial growth system. It shall be manufactured of 304 type stainless steel, and fabricated using full penetration tungsten inert gas weldments, with no fill rod. All welds shall be shielded on both sides. All interior vacuum exposed surfaces shall be chemically treated to ensure minimized outgassing. The deposition chamber is to be fully bakeable to 200 degrees Celcius and the base pressure shall be 5X10-11 Torr (or less). System shall be configured to allow straight through sample manipulation with backside optical access to substrate.This solicitation will be issued approx 96 Aug 02.
