The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy seeks sources capable of supplying all labor, supervision, materials, tools and equipment necessary to re-roof the Yocum Sailing Center. The contractor shall be required to attach existing steel standing seam roof panels to purlins, fill-in spaces between existing standing seams with 3'' polystyrene insulation, add 1-1/2'' layer of isocyanurate insulation board to top of polystyrene and apply a fully adhered .060 EPDM roofing system. In addition, the contractor shall be responsible for installing new copper gutters and leaders, as well as flashing. Solicitation packages will be ready approximately 26 August 1996. The tentative date for the site inspection is 12 September 1996. The estimated range is between $100,000 and $250,000. All requests for the solicitation must be made in writing. No telephone requests shall be accepted. The applicable standard industrial classification is 1761. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistant for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
