70 -- FRAME RELAY MONITORING DUE 082696 POC Rita J. Carter Tel: 410-965-8789 The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources capable of providing a Frame Relay Monitoring and Performance Tool. SSA is evaluating frame relay as a possible future transport mechanism. During this evaluation, it is necessary to insure that SSA is able to monitor the frame relay network at the same level as the current network. It is necessary for SSA to obtain a Frame Relay Monitoring and Performance tool that will give SSA (at a minimum) the following capabilities: (1) Support DTE speeds of 56 kbps and T1/FT1 frame relay (1.544 mbps) full duplex circuits. (2) Support the following protocols: frame relay, LMI, RFC, T1.617, 802.2 LLC, token ring, IP, SNMP, TCP, TELENET, IPX, NCP, SAP, SPX, RIP, SNA and Net BIOS. (3) Capability to set alarms for T1/DDS signal state change, V.35 signal state change, frame relay link-state change, DLCI state change, SNMP authentication violation and power cycle. (4) Front panel LEDs for signaling status, data activity, loopback status and management activity. (5) Tool should perform statistical analysis, event monitoring and protocol decoding at the physical, frame relay, and payload layers of the network. (6) Data representation in real-time and historical modes. (7) Custom and pre-formatted reports. (8) RMON compliant in groups applicable to frame relay. (9) Capable of performing within a token ring network. The following items (brand name or equal) are required: (1) Token ring central office ASE, T1 access, 2048 kbps, 64 PVCs; token ring LAN interface V.35, x.21, EIA530, RS449 electrical interface - includes full configuration and a quantity of 5 each. (2) T1 monitoring and token ring cable package T1:RJ Y cable -- token ring UTP cable admin, null modem, 9 pin to 9 pin and a quantity of 5 each. (3) Visual uptime turnkey console; console software installed on a pentium 90 mhz PC with 16mb RAM, 1GB hard drive, token ring adapter, internal V.32 bis modem, 15'' SVGA monitor, pcANYWHERE, workgroup for windows -- includes configuration and installation - quantity 1 each. (4) Central ASE annual maintenance -- software - free upgrades; hardware - next day delivery for replacement. Quantity of 5 each. (5) Console software annual maintenance (1 user) -- software - free upgrades; hardware - next day delivery for replacement. Quantity of 1 year. (6) ASE installation on item #1 - includes dial-in-diagnostics, hotline support to resolve installation anomalies. Quantity of 5 each.
