Carter Tel: 410-965-8789 The Social Security Administration is seeking sources capable of providing an integrated and portable Usability Laboratory package capable of producing a videotape record of evaluation sessions which are linked by time stamp to observations (critical events) recorded by the experimenter. The unit, at a minimum, must include: --Two color cameras with tripods and remote control pan, tilt, zoom and focus. --A scan converter that can take VGA video output from a computer (up to 1280 x 1024) and convert it to a composite video signal. --A video mixer capable of combining input into a composite view while recording to a compact (Hi8 mm) VCR format. --LCD color monitors (minimum of four, with one being at least 8.5 inches) for output signals delivered from the two cameras, scan converter and video mixer. --An audio monitor system with wireless microphones to capture and relay comments made by the evaluator (subject). The system must also relay and capture prompts and questions made by the experimenter to the evaluator during the test session. --Hardware and software capable of logging experimenter's observations of critical events that occurred during the test session with time stamps. This system should also provide for data entry macros or quick entry keys to reduce typing. --Cables that will permit the control unit(s) to be placed up to at least 60 feet from the evaluator's work station. --Hard-shelled luggage/shipping cases and cart appropriate for air travel and shipping. --One year warranty to cover parts, labor and phone support. This is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited or received. j Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the source data received, but sources deemed qualified will be solicited when this requirement is issued.
