A -- MISSION SPACEFLIGHT BATTERIES SOL RFP5-52442/237 DUE 083196 POC Lorrie L. Eakin, Contract Specialist, (301) 286-4241. The NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center intends to issue a Request for Propsoal (RFP5-52242/237), on a competitive basis, for the design, analysis, fabrication, test, and delivery of up to six qualified flight batteries in support of future MIDEX Missions. The battery design(s) shall be for rechargeable, spaceflight batteries which meet general mission requirements. A firm-fixed price contract is contemplated with a total period of performance (including any options) of 24 months from the date of contract award. In order to have a reasonable expectation of being awarded this procurement, the successful offeror(s) must be able to demonstrate experience in R&D analysis (with respect to correcting cell and battery anomalies), and in the fabrication of spaceflight qualified batteries. Please note: NASA/GSFC reserves the right to make multiple awards. The RFP is expected to be released on or about August 31, 1996. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered.
