This procurement which was originally advertised in May as a small business set-aside is now being solicited under full and open competition. Contractor shall be responsible for modifying the existing anechoic chamber at GSFC to house a hybrid 75 foot tapered/40 foot compact chamber. Tapered portion shall operate from 0.35 to 18 Ghz and compact portion shall operate from 2 to 94 Ghz. The existing anechoic chamber is used to measure spacecraft antenna radiation patterns for various NASA flight missions. Contractor shall upgrade this chamber to cover additional frequency ranges required for future missions, and ensure that the chamber meets existing fire code safety standards. Contractor shall be responsible for architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and radio frequency renovations to include absorber selection and installation. Contractor shall be required to interface with Scientific Atlanta model 5706 compact reflector which will be provided as GFE. Estimated magnitude of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Construction must be completed within 240 calendar days of notice to proceed. This procurement is also being conducted using NASA's MidRange procurement procedures. All responsible sources may submit an offer which the Agency will consider.
