REMOVAL OF UNDER GROUND STORAGE TANKS AT COAST GUARD AIR STATION
HUMBOLDT BAY, MCKINLEYVILLE, CA. Furnish all labor, materials, and
equipment necessary to remove and replace three underground storage
tanks (USTS) at Air Station Humboldt Bay. The work includes (1)
Demolish the following:(a) Remove and recycle underground storage
tanks, all associated piping, and ancillary equipment; (b) Remove north
fuel dispensing station including all piping, equipment, fuel crib and
concrete reels, fuel meter, filter separator, shock absorber,
strainer, controls, electric power, and receptacles;(c) Remove piping,
valves, and fittings running from the fuel building to the south fuel
dispensing station; (d) Disconnect buried fuel supply and fuel return
piping located between two fuel dispensing stations. Remove piping not
buried under the concrete/asphalt pavement. Flush all traces of jet
fuel from the piping buried under the concrete/asphalt pavement, cap
the ends, and abondon the piping in place, except as noted on the
drawing;(e) Remove the turbine ventilator at the fuel building;(f)
Remove section of the 1 1/2 inch diameter pipe as indicated; and (g)
Relocate the existing fire hydrant. (2) Provide soil and groundwater
samples to the Environmental Consultant for analyses; (3) Backfill,
cleanup, and restore the site; (4) Provide three above ground storage
tanks, one 500 gal Diesel, and two 10,000 gal Aviation (JP-8); (5)
Provide new day tank, valves, piping, and fittings running from the
diesel storage tank to the existing generator and make the new system
operational; (6) Provide new piping, valves, and fittings running from
the jet fuel storage tanks to the fuel building and from the fuel
building to the south fuel dispensing station; (7) Provide new pressure
control/deadman/surge control valve in the fuel dispensing unit; (8)
Design and replace two existing fuel pumps in the fuel building with
new pumps to provide 60 gpm jet fuel at 55 psig at the fuel dispensing
station; and (9) Provide a new roof top exhaust fan at the fuel
building. Estimated Range $250,000 to $500,000. Performance period is
120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Drawings and
Specifications can be purchased at the rate of $15.00 per copy. Request

SPECIFICATIONS. No refunds will be made and materials need not be
returned. If project is cancelled or no award is made, cost of plans
and specifications will be refunded only on written request. Anticipate

Receipts for its preceedingt 3 fiscal years do not exceed $17.0

receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides and 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
