FITCH Contracting Officer 708-216-2606 Contractor shall furnish and install all materials, equipment and labor necessary to perform alterations and renovations of approximately 35 washrooms in Bldgs 1, 2, 8, 9 and 200 to provide for handicap accessibility. Work will be performed at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Edward Hines Hospital, Hines, Il., 60141. (Hines Il. is located approximately 13 miles west of downtown Chicago). Work will include, but it not limited to the removal of partitions, lavatories, water closets and accessories and the replacement with new. Work shall also include, but is not limited to, the installation of new doors, frames, patching of walls and floors where necessary, painting and asbestos abatement. All work shall be performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings and all applicable codes and standards. Bid documents will be available after August 19, 1996 by written request to the contracting officer, accompanied by a refundable deposit check of $35.00. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit planned for August 28, 1996 at 10:30am. local time. Bid opening date is scheduled for September 25, 1996 at 1:30pm local time.
