notice is to incorporate Amendment No. 001 into Solicitation No.
BEP-96-35(TN) for Shop Floor Terminals and to answer questions from
prospective offerors. Questions and Answers. Question 1: How many
copies of the proposal are required? Answer 1: See Amendment No. 001
item (1). Question 2: Should pricing be separated from technical
responses or is a single bound volume acceptable? Answer 2: See
Amendment No. 001 item (1). Question 3: There is a sentence in the
solicitation that states that ''the terminals will be delivered to the
BEP fully assembled and ready to be installed.'' Will delivery orders
specify which terminals (CLINs 001, 002, 003) will have CLIN 004 (Scan
Image IP hand held laser scanners) or CLIN 005 (Ethernet Card with one
10 BASE2 and one 10 Base-T {twisted pair} port) or CLIN 006 (IBM PMCIA
Token Ring adapter card) installed in the assembly? Answer 3: The
individual delivery orders will specify which combination of Clins will
need to be assembled with which Clins. However, any scanners ordered
will need to be connected with the accompanying terminal order;
Ethernet cards will need to be installed in tthe accompanying
terminals. Question 4: Will BEP have existing scanners or network
adapters which they will want installed? Please clarify. Answer 4: No.
Question 5: With respect to CLIN 006, does ''IBM PCMCIA Token Ring
Adapter Card'' require only IBM models or are other manufacturers'
equivalent cards be acceptable? Answer 5: See Amendment No. 001 item
(3). Question 6: What are your specific payment terms? The implication
is Net 150 (constructive acceptance of 120 days = 30 days payment).
Will you consider prompt payment discounts? Answer 6: Prompt payment
discounts are always considered. The 120 day constructive acceptance
will remain in the solicitation and should be met by all offerors;
however, in addition to complying with the terms and conditions of the
solicitation, any offeror may propose alternate terms and conditions
which will be considered during the negotiation process. Question 7:
Please specify a maximum number of terminals that you will expect to be
delivered within fifteen days of receipt of a single delivery order.
Answer 7: See Amendment No. 001 item (4). The following revisions and
additions are made to solicitation BEP-96-35(TN) under Amendment No.
001: (1) pricing (original only) and technical (original and 3 copies)
information shall be separately provided -- two documents; (2) Clins
001, 002, and 003 will be delivered fully assembled and incorporated
into a single unit, and Clins 004, 005 and 006 will be connected or
installed into the units as specified in the delivery orders; at no
time, shall Clins 004, 005 and 006 be delivered without being connected
or installed; (3) Clin 006 is hereby changed to read IBM PCMCIA Token
Ring Adapter Card or equal; (4) the delivery is hereby changed to be 15
calendar days after receipt of order (ARO) for the first 30 units
ordered and 45 calendar days ARO for all remaining units; and (5) any
offer shall include a list (including prices and quantities) of all
items necessary to install this equipment. All other terms and
conditions remain unchanged, including the 3:00 p.m., August 19, 1996
proposal closing (due) date. Copies of the original solicitation may be
