Sumner (817) 287-5453 (Site Code DAKF48) THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; Bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation DAKF48-96-B-0034 is issued as an Invitation for Bids (IFB). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-38. This action is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this action is 3829. The small business size standard for this action is Five Hundred (500) employees. Items: Nexwos - Awos II System which includes purchase and installation at Brady, Brownwood, San Saba, and North Fort Hood, Texas - 4 each. The systems fall within the guideline of FAA Advisory Circular 150/5220-16A sensor. Capability: (Acquisition Control Unit, Ceilometer (Cloud Height Indicator)), Temperature/Relative Humidity, Pressure, Wind Speed, Direction and Gust, Visibility, Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge, and Dial-up modem. System must be 80486 architecture and a multi-tasking system. System shall have remote maintenance monitoring capabilities. Contractor will include the cost of shipping, installation, site survey, FAA filing and administration, and site preparation. Systems will be fully certified by the FAA, ready for operation. Contractor must provide FAA certified technician of record to provide maintenance and required recertification for a period of five years. Delivery and installation is required within 120 Days after notice of contract award. Clause 52.211-8, Time of Delivery, applies to this acquisition and is incorporated in full text via addendum. FAR Provision 52.216-1, Type of Contract, applies and is incorporated in full text via addendum and reads as follows: The Government contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price contract resulting from this solicitation. The clause at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition and is incorporated by reference. Addendum to FAR 52.212-1 reads as follows: Paragraph (b): Sentence two, delete ''the SF 1449'' and ''or as otherwise specified in solicitation.'' Paragraph (b)(4): Last sentence is deleted and replaced with ''Descriptive Literature shall be provided in accordance with Provision 52.214-21.'' Paragraph (e): Paragraph is deleted.
