COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 14,1996 PSA#1658U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Contracts Mgmt. Div., Cincinnati,
OH 45268-7001 66 -- LEASE OF INDUCTIVELY COUPLED PLASMA MASS SPECTROMETER SOL RFQ
96-107 POC William J. Wise, Contracting Officer, 513/366-2025 The
Chemical Exposure Research Branch of USEPA's Human Exposure Research
Division in Cincinnati, Ohio, has a requirement for lease of a new
inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) for use in an
ongoing metal speciation project. This project is producing novel
analytical approaches to arsenic speciation in order to provide valence
state based toxicity data. These approaches are targeting
separation-based technologies which will produce low PPT arsenic
quantification capability. This work is currently being conducted under
the National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. A
one-year lease period for the required ICP-MS is contemplated, with an
option for an additional year. The ICP-MS must have excellent
detection limits (in the fractional ppt concentration range), excellent
abundance sensitivity ) 1.0 X 10-6 (high side), good absolute
sensitivity, the ability to monitor transient signal and provide
chromatographic peak integration capability, good short/long term
precision at 5ppb, and excellent isotope ratio accuracy at 25ppb. All
necessary hardware and software for the ICP-MS are also required under
the lease. Delivery to the USEPA at 26 W. Martin Luther King Drive in
Cincinnati is anticipated within 30 calendar days after the effective
date of the lease, with completion of acceptance testing within 45
calendar days after the effective date of the lease. Requests for RFQ
96-107 must be in writing to the above address or faxed to Bill Wise at
513/366-2004. Telephone requests will not be honored. This is an
unrestricted acquisition. All responsible sources may submit a quote
which will be considered by the Agency. (0225) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0453 19960813\66-0005.SOL)
