This is a synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordace with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and written solcitation will not be issued. A quote is being requested from all responsible/responsive offerors. Solicitation number F01620-96-T0447 is being issued as a request for qoute (RFQ). This solicitation document, incorporated provisions and cluases are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-37. Award will be made using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Standard Industrial Classification is 7373. The provisions at FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items (Oct 1995) and FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial items (Oct 1995) apply to this acquisition. This acquisition is for 1536 VUport Runtime Licenses. Which must be exchanged, intermixed and transferred between the following UNIX Operating Systems: Hewlett Packard HPUX; IBM AIX; NCR System 5 Rel 4 on Intel; SCO UNIX on Intel; Sun Microsystems Solaris 2. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition with no addenda. In accordance with the provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items, the Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, will be the most advantegous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The provisions at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items (Oct 1995) applies to this acquisition.
