The Office of Procurement Management intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Digicon Corporation, 6903 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817 to; acquire the continued system maintenance, Management and software development support for the FUSION (Finnish-US Investigation of Non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) project. A five year cost reimbursement type contract is contemplated. The project's support system architecture was originally designed, and is currently supported by Digicon Corportation. Inherent duplication of cost to the Government, and unacceptable delays in completing the project make competititon unfeasible for this acquisition.
