Carney, Contracting Officer, (617) 232-9500, Ext. 5536 Contractor shall be required to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to upgrade the heating system of building 1A of the medical center. Work will include changing valves, steam traps, strainers, gauges and thermometers, performing reinsulation to piping, replacing steam condensate return lines, heat exchangers, flash tank, exhaust fan and pressure reducing stations and upgrading controls. All work shall be performed according to plans and specifications. The cost range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contract award is subject to the availability of funds. Requests for the solicitation package must be in writing. No phone or faxed requests will be accepted. Bid packages will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis. Standard industrial code 1711 applies. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 21, 1996, and the bid opening is scheduled for September 20, 1996, at 11:00 a.m. local time. (0226)
