The Bureau of Indian Affairs requires all labor, materials, tools and
equipment to furnish and install metal doors at the Chemawa Indian
School, Salem OR. Estimated cost range of project is $100,000-$250,000.
Section 7(b) of PL 93-638 (25 USC 450e) and DIAR 1452-204-71 require
that preference opportunities in employment and training be given to
Indian/Alaska Native individuals and that preference in the award of
subcontracts be given to Indian Alaska Native economic enterprises.
Failure by the contractor to submit a plan for doing so prior to award
and implement same after award shall be sufficient reason for
non-award or termination of the contract for default - an Indian/Alaska
Native economic enterprise need only be 51 percent Indian/Alaska Native
