COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 16,1996 PSA#1660ASC/YWP, Bldg 11, 2240 B Street, Ste 7, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
45433-7111 69 -- AIRCREW TRAINING SYSTEMS AND AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE TRAINING
SYSTEMS SOL F33657-96-R-2067 POC Program Management, Maj W. Kyle
Sneddon, (513) 255-2826, ext 481/Contracting Officer, Richard Stem,
(513) 255-7414, ext 392. The Training Systems Product Group (TSPG) is
continuing the acquisition planning for the purpose of competitively
awarding multiple Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ)
contracts for Aircrew and Aircraft Maintenance Training Systems (AAMTS)
II for the United States Air Force and Foreign Military Sales. The
objective of this contract strategy is to significantly shorten
lead-time to meet user training requirements by reducing source
selection time. It is our desire to ensure that small businesses will
take part in the program. In support of the AAMTS II competition, the
TSPG is surveying industry to determine which areas of work should be
set aside for small businesses. The survey will be sent to all
companies on the current bidders list, but will also be sent to and
received from any company requesting a survey. The survey will contain
a list of all work areas (with examples and descriptions) the TSPG
expects to put on contract. We ask you to indicate which areas your
company plans to bid upon. The product of this survey will be used to
develop the acquisition strategy that will lead to the Request for
Proposals (RFP). To ensure successful awards to small businesses it is
critical that the TSPG select areas of work that many small
contractors can perform and compete to win. A contractor may be
competitive for an area of work if their past performance in that area
shows a high likelihood that they will perform successfully in terms
of cost, schedule and performance. There are several ways to receive a
survey. The quickest way will be to access the electronic bulletin
board at ''www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil/aamt.htm'' or
''129.48.120.143/aamt.htm'' and download the file ''survey.doc.''
