99 -- DIGITAL SUN SENSOR SOL RFP5-58076/506 POC Joan W. Tomasello, Contracting Officer, (301)286-6535. NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP5-58076/506), on a competitive basis, for a Digital Sun Sensor (DSS) for the Microwave Anisotropy Probe (MAP) Attitude Control System (ACS). This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The basic contract resulting from this solicitation will require delivery of one DSS and may include an option for one additional DSS. The DSS design is dictated by performance requirements of the MAP spacecraft. A high accuracy digital sensor is required to give accurate sun position information over a wide field of view. The basic contract period of performance is 15 months. This will be a firm fixed price contract. The RFP is scheduled to be released on/about 6 September 1996 with anticipated contract award on/before 6 January 1997.
