99 -- INERTIAL REFERENCE UNIT SOL RFP5-58073/506 POC Joan W. Tomasello, Contracting Officer, (301)286-6535. NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP5-58073/506), on a competitive basis, for an Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) for the Microwave Anisotropy Probe (MAP) Attitude Control System (ACS). The basic contract resulting from this solicitation will require delivery of one IRU and may include an option for one additional IRU. The IRU design is dictated by performance requirements of the MAP spacecraft. The IRU will provide rate information for use by the ACS. The contract period of performance is 18 months. This will be a firm fixed price contract. The RFP is scheduled to be released on/about 6 September 1996 with anticipated contract award on/before 6 January 1997.
