A -- METALCASTING LEAD TIME AND COST REDUCTION PHASE II: SYSTEMIZING METALCASTING PROCESSES Contract Specialist Scott Savory (614) 692-7121; Contracting Officer, Cheryl Montoney, (614) 692-7114. The Defense Supply Center Columbus intends to negotiate and award a modification to contract SPO900-95-C-0090 on a sole-source basis to South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), 1330 Lady Street, Columbia, SC 29201. The subject modification will add Phase II of the Metal Casting Lead Time and Cost Reduction Program. The initial contract, which was competitively awarded, included provisions for the award of Phase II. The modification will extend the contract period of performance for 36 months, to 26 Oct 1999, and will add effort to implement the results of Phase I at selected DLA sites. The Government has determined that award of this follow-on effort to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that would not be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Agency's requirements. Any other firm desiring consideration must full identify its capability to perform the requirement to the DSCC Contracting Officer.
