Deanna Easley The EPA, National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL), Atlantic Ecology Division (AED), Narragansett, Rhode Island, requires technical support services in the operation of its Glassware Preparation Facility. NHEERL/AED provides marine, coastal and estuarine research for the Agency's Office of Research and Development. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide technical support to AED by providing glassware, plasticware and other Laboratory related cleaning for scientific personnel. Technical support services shall include washing, acid stripping and sterilization of Laboratory glassware and the sterilization of sea water for algae culture. The base activity of this procurement will require the services of a Laboratory Assistant in the Glassware Preparation Facility. The Government may require the services of a General Maintenance Worker for Laboratory Fabrication and the services of an Environmental Technician for Safety Compliance as options during the base and option periods. The Agency anticipates the award of a fixed price contract with a Base period of 18 months and three (3) 12-month options to extend the contract term. The base level of effort will be 3,120 hours for the Laboratory Assistant with an option to increase the level of effort by 1,560 hours for the General Maintenance Worker and 1,248 hours for the Environmental Technician. This procurement will be a 100% small business set-aside. The SIC code for this solicitation is 8711 ($2.5 million).
