Turner, (303)236-5900 x348 Concerns having the ability to furnish the property described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The USGS has a requirement of a Quick Chem Mercury Analyzer - to include as an integrated system: Auto Sampler (x,y,z drive), Vapos Generator, Omnion Software, Atomic Fluorescence Detector, Data System, Accessories Kit, Installation and Training. The system shall be capable of performing the determination of mercury in a variety of matrices following the appropriate digestion using atomic Fluorescence detection at the sub-part per trillion level in solution. The automated system shall include a continuous flow cold vapor generator with precision gas flow controls, gas-liquid separator, membrane-based drier, XYZ autosampler compatible with 13x100 glass test tubes, and PC-based (Windows 3.1 compatible) data station. The system shall be upgradeable to include the technologies of multi-channel flow injection analysis and chemically-supressed ion chromatography. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government consideres the item specified as a sole source from Lachat Instruments 6645 West Mill Road, Milwaukee, WI 53218-1239, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required item or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation doucuments without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration.
