OAK RIDGE REGIONAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES CONFERENCE Point of Contact: Mitzi Burgess, (423) 483-1321. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Lockheed-Martin Energy Systems, Inc. (LMES)/ Lockheed Martin Energy Research (LMER), MK-Ferguson of Oak Ridge Company, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and other regional businesses will participate in a day-long conference on August 27, 1996, to provide information on new contracting opportunities for attending companies. This year's conference title is ``Today's Reality, Tomorrow's Vision.'' The conference is sponsored by the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, LMES/LMER, MK-Ferguson of Oak Ridge, and TVA. The morning sessions will focus on upcoming contracting opportunities with the DOE, TVA, MK-Ferguson of Oak Ridge, and LMES/LMER. Representatives of national and regional companies will display exhibits and give one-on-one sessions during the afternoon. In addition, concurrent sessions during the afternoon will focus on mentoring and partnering, effective marketing, electronic commerce, and writing a successful proposal and business plan. Other sessions will offer information on financing, government contracting, and setting up an 8(A) firm. The Conference will be held at the Pollard Auditorium and the Oak Ridge Civic Center, with a special electronic commerce session at Technology 2020.
