BOX 25046, MS 204-B, DFC, DENVER, CO 80225 70 -- UPGRADE TO AN EXISTING USGS SYSTEM DATA ACQUISITION AND
PROCESSING (GDP12) SYSTEM TO AN GDP32 SYSTEM. SOL 1434CR96QQ00382 DUE
092696 POC Purchasing Agent, Iris D. Turner, (303)236-5900 x348
Concerns having the ability to furnish the property described herein
are requested to give written notification (including the telephone
number for a point of contact) to the procuring officer above within
forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The USGS
has a requirement for an upgrade to an existing USGS geophysical data
acquisition and processing (GDP12) system. The requirement will
up-grade the GDP12 to a GDP32 in both hardware and software used in
acquistiion and processing of electrical geophysical data. The proposed
up-grade will also expand the capabilities of the existing GDP12 from
2 channels to 6 channels to a broader capability of different types of
electrical geophysical surveys that can be made (time and frequency
domain Induced Polarization, natural and controlled source
audiomagnetotellurics time and frequency domain electromagnetics and
down hole logging). The frequency range will be from 0007 to 8000 Hz
with 16 bit data acquisition (1/2 LSB and conversion time of 16
microseconds). All software for processing electrical geophsical survey
data (types above) will be provided. The unit will be self-contained in
an environmentally sealed container, battery powered (10 hours
operation), with an input impedance of 10 megohms at DC. Internal
temperature and humidity sensors will monitor the data acquisition
unit. Digital data acquisition will be microprocessor controlled and
stored internally for tranfer via RS-232 to field computer system. The
upgrade will be compatible with existing USGS ancillary GDP12
components, existing Geonics transmitter, and an existing GDP16 system.
