99 -- AIRCRAFT LOW OBSERVABLE SYMPOSIUM POC Contact, Mike Crawford, Phone (703)604-1920 The Combat Survivability Division, American Defense Preparedness Association, in cooperation with the Joint Technical Coordinating Group on Aircraft Survivability, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Association of Old Crows, is sponsoring a symposium entitled ''The Impact of Low Observable Technology on Aircraft Survivability''. The Symposium will be held October 8-10, 1996 at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for exchanging information and advancing ideas that will enhance aircraft combat survivability, principally through the application of Low Observable concepts, technologies and programs as they impact the survivability and overall mission effectiveness of current and future combat aircraft. This symposium (for U.S. audiences only with a valid U.S. Secret clearance) will focus on how the future of Low Observables is perceived by each of the Military Services from the policy, acquisition, and operator perspectives. It will include developing and applying technology to reduce the multi-spectral signatures of current and future aircraft, as well as the analysis and testing developed to quantify the benefits from this rapidly expanding field. Following a half-day overall introduction on the impact of Low Observables on aircraft survivability, the symposium features five sessions focused around these themes: 1) Aircraft Survivability and Low Observables - Where Are We Headed?, 2) Employing Low Observable Aircraft - Operational Considerations, 3) Measuring Low Observable's Impact - Analysis and Testing, 4) Enhancing Survivability through Low Observable Technology, and 6) Designing Affordable/Survivable Aircraft. For more information, ask about event number 794 with Michelle Bilowich, ADPA, at (703) 247-2587 or fax (703) 522-1885. - NAVAIR Synopsis No. 30099-96. (0232)
