This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. (II) Solicitation
DTCG85-B-625L33 is issued as an invitation to bid (IFB) which will
result in a firm fixed supply contract. (III) All solicitation
documents and incorporated clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 90-39. (IV) The SIC Code is 3519; the small
business standard is 1000 employees. (V) Item 0001, Part # 40027608,
Fork Power Pack Assemblies Rebuild (Premiun) 12 EA Item 0002, Blade
Power Pack Assemblies, Part # 40027609 Rebuilt (permium) 12 ea. The
Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific proposes to
contract for General Motors Corportion, Electro-Motive Division (EMD)
Premium Fork Power Pack Assemblies. All power packs must be rebuilt to
Original Equipment Manufactures (EOM) latest standards. The Contractor
will accept used power packs up to 90 days after each Coast Guard
cutter's receipt of its four Fork Power Packs and its four Blade Power
Packs, Coast Guard will ship the same number and type of Fork and
Blade Power Packs, regular grade to contractor under the UTEX unit
exchange program. These returned regular grade power packs will be the
property of the contractor. It will be the contractor's
responsibility, at no additional cost to the government, to
appropriately recycle or dispose of the used power packs. (VII) The
Contractor will ship four (4) power pack assemblies and four (4) blade
power pack assemblies for delivery and acceptance to the follows;
USCGC CHASE (WHEC 718), Bldg 21, Terminal Island Station, San Pedro, CA
90731 by 15 October 1996; to the USCGC SHERMAN (WHEC 720), USCG ISC
Alameda, Bldg 42, C.G. Island, Alameda, CA 94501 by 1 November 1996; to
the USCGC STORIS (WMEC 38), USCG ISC Kodiak, Box 55, Kodiak, AK 99619
by 1 February 1997. The following clauses are referenced but have the
same effect as if in full text: 52.212-1, Instruction to
Offerors-Commercial Items, 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items,
52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certificates-Commercial Items,
when submitting a bid please include a completed copy, 52.212-4

Act-Supplies. All bidders must certify with the bid that all parts are
OEM Parts and the assemblies are the part numbers that are stated. The
Contractor shall provide an EMD factory warranty. In additon, if
bidder's warranty covers additional time or terms, the Contractor must
provide that coverage to the Coast Guard. The bid opening is scheduled
for 30 August 1996 at 1:30 p.m. local time. The bid opening will be
held at MLC PAC, Coast Guard Island, Bldg. 50-7, Alameda, CA
94501-5100. No facsimile bids will be accepted. For information
