The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a nonpersonal service contract to the qualified individual or business capable of providing pharmacy technician services to the inmate population housed at the Federal Detention Center, and the Federal Correctional Institution, Arkona Rd, Milan, MI. Services include but are not limited to: support the pharmacist and other health services staff in meeting the needs of inmates, assisting the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing, storage and ordering of medication, performing inspections, and educating staff and inmates concerning pharmaceuticals. Requirements include: certification through job experience, possession of state certfication or completion of a recognized pharmacy tech course. Experience in the community setting would be helpful. The contract period will include a base year, not to exceed twelve months from date of award, with four, one year option periods for renewal. This is a nonpersonal service, not to exceed 30 hours per week, and not a personnel appointment.
