Government intends to procure, under the Simplified Acquisition
Procedures, two different types of snowmobiles meeting or exceeding the
following characteristics: National Stock Number (NSN)
2350-01-091-5163. Offerer's products(s) must meet or exceed all
performance, physical, reliability, and durability characteristics as
indicated below in this synopsis to be eligible to provide a quotation.
(1) Heavy Duty Work Snowmobile - Yamaha VK540II, 535cc axial fan cooled
engine, mikuni single B 38-34X1 carburetor, oil injection, track width
& length 20''x156'', electric start, hand warmers, 2 speed
transmission with reverse, tow hitch, 2 personnel with min. 500lbs seat
capacity, high altitute kit/carburetor installed, mechanical disk
brakes, EZ throttle system, heavy-duty suspension, speedometer,
odometer, tachometer, high altitude clutching installed, heavy duty
canvas cover, minimum one (1) year parts and labor warranty which
allows for heavy duty military use, parts and service manuals provided,
parts and service readily available on commercial market. (2) Touring
Snowmobile-Polaris Indy Ultra Touring, 679cc liquid cooled engine,
3-VM38AL carburation, oil injection, track width & length 15''x133.5'',
electric start, hand warmers, 2 speed transmission with reverse, tow
hitch, 2 personnel with min. 500lbs seat capacity, high altitude
kit/carburetor installed, hydraulic disc brakes, EZ throttle system,
heavy duty suspension, speedometer, odometer, tachometer, high altitude
clutching installed, heavy duty canvas cover, minimum one (1) year
parts and labor warranty which allows for heavy duty military use,
parts and service manuals provided, parts and service readily available
on commercial market. The Government intends to purchase up to eight
(8) each. Snowmobiles will be delivered completely assembled and ready
for operation to (excluding engine fuel & oil): Central Receiving,
Bldg 2000, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport,
CA. 93517. All snowmobiles will be completely delivered no later than
01 November 1996. Partial deliveries will be accepted prior to this
date. Requests for Quotations (RFQ) will be issued to all interested
parties. Interested parties should submit via phone or FAX their poimnt
of contact authorized to submit quotations, phone number, address, and
FAX number to the Contracting Officer. Anticipated issue of RFQ is 09
September 1996. Award will be made no earlier than fifteen (15) days
after RFQs have been issued. Anticipated award date is NLT 30 September
1996. Preferred method to issue and receive RFQs and quotations from
vendors is by FAX. Complete and comprehensive product descriptions
(including pictures) must accompany quotations in order to be
considered. Award will be based on (1) meet or exceed all
