Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for (1) Parallel Seam Welder which must be able to seal packages at least 6 inches square, must be capable of sealing by resistance sealing or solder reflowing, have a pressure control form of 5 to 60 newtons minimum, performance must be able to meet MIL-STD-883C, must be able to control heat pulse width and duration via microprocessor control, must have fully adjustable constant voltage power supply, must be equipped with optical sensors for positional accuracy of electrodes, and must be capable of sealing metal packages (unplated and plated Kovar, Aluminum, Copper, ceramic, stainless steel) at a minimum. (1) Vacuum Bake Out Oven with interior dimension of 11'' x 11'' x 16'', temperature of 200 deg C continuously with 0.1% accuracy, must be equipped with a vacuum pump that provides a minimum 28'' HG, must have a molecular sieve vapor trap. (1) Atmosphere Chamber which must be of at least 24'' x 24'' x 48'', must have a safety glass window for full view of work enviroment, must have a Nitrogen purge system that provides a minimum of pressure that maintains a 1.5'' water column and capable of at least 300 SCFH, external illumination should provide at least 100 F.C at 30'' (at work surface), must be equipped with a Gas mixer (90% Nitrogen, 10% Helium) and must have a minimum of 2 glove ports.
