The National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD has a requirement to procure reagents for the Laboratory Medicine Department, Immunology/Virology Department, NNMC. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced standing order to GEN-PROBE for hte delivery of reagents/DNA Probe-Assay kits which will be compatible with the LEADER 50 instrument. GEN-PROBE is the only company with the patent on the DNA-PROBE ASSAY technology for the screening and detection of Chlamydia and Neisseria antigens. These kits are the only FDA approved kit on the market which screens and detects both Chlamydia tracomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae infections from ONE source. The following items will be procured: (1) (36 KT) #3275, Male Specimen Collection Kit (3 kt per month); (2) (108 KT) #3300 Female Specimen Collection Kit (9 kt per month); (3) (72 KT) #3905, PACE 2C Chlamydia/NG kit (6 kt per month); (4) (12 KT) #1792, Chlamydia Kit (1 kt per month); (5) (12 KT) #1793, Neisseria gonorrhoeae Kit (1 kt per month); (6) (12 KT) #3548, PCA for Chlamydia Kit (1 kt per month); (7) (12 KT) #3549, PCA for Neisseria Kit (1 kt per month); (8) (24 KT) #1791, Detection Reagent (2 kt per month). Period of performance will be from 1 Oct 1996 through 30 September 1997. Anticipated award date is 1 September 1996. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be made in the form of a purchase order and is contingent upon availability of FY97 funding. (232)
