66 -- POWER SUPPLY FOR EXISTING AJAX MODEL HCLF-50 INDUCTION FURNACE SOL N6153396Q1202 DUE 090696 POC Contract Specialist: Fran Cooley 301-227-5669; Contracting Officer: 301-227-1113. The Carderock Division Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Ajax Magnethermic Corporation, Warren, OH, under the authority of FAR 6.302.1. The procurement is a replacement Ajax Model Pacer-S10 50KW power supply for an existing Ajax Model #HCLF-50 induction furnace. The power supply is custom designed to NSWC's 50KW, 3000HZ power supply. The furnace has quick connect and disconnect feature which matches with the power supply. The power supply must be 50KW, 3KZ, AC/DC/AC solid state frequency converter designed to match existing furnace modified Model #HCLF-50 at NSWC with quick connect and disconnect features, operating from a 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz, 64 KVA input and with Ajax pacer technology. The unit automatically maintains the power through the varying conditions of a typical melt (cold charge through to fully molten bath). It must have the matching (with the existing furnace) self-diagnostic features. Cabinet size: 54'' long x 24'' deep X 81'' high, with ground detector system. One breaker assembly with external operating handle, lockable, complete with UVR. Integral capacitor bank with isolation transformer to match the existing induction furnace; lead output on left side. Logic system with digital meters, internal self diagnostics, fault annuciation array, and fiber optic control to match the load (existing furnace). One manually operated two position furnace selector switch to match small Glove Box induction furnace. Side mount deionized pump system designed to recirculate water thru the power unit. Motor starter shall be supplied loose. Allow an additional 18'' for the water system. As the original equipment manufacturer Ajax Magnethermic Corporation is best qualified for the replacement power supply. Anticipated award is on or about 10 September 1996. See Numbered Note(s): 22.
