The National Naval Medical Center has a requirement for the Viral Testing Branch, Laboratory Medicine Department. NNMC intends to award a sole sources standing order to Abbott Laboratories for the delivery of HIV reagents to be used in the testing of blood donor units. Abbot Laboratories manufactures the only reagents that can be used with their equipment the Abbott Commander than NNMC currently owns. The following items will be procured (1) Sixty (60) kits 2A81-24 HIV AG, 100/kit, five (5) kits to be delivered every month; (2) Twelve (12) kits 2A81-31 HIV AG, 1000/kit, one (1) kit to be delivered every month. Award will be made in the form of a purchase order for base year period of one (1) year effective 1 October 1996 through 30 September 1997 with one (1) year option. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be contingent upon availability of FY97 funding. (228)
