Request written quotation to analyze the development of the Mission Santa Barbara property, determine its areas and period of significance, evaluate the extent and integrity of the cultural resources associated with the Mission, and establish a boundary for the Landmark, utilizing historical, archival, architectural and archeological sources. Anticipated date of award is 9/30/96. Award of order shall be made on a the basis of ``best value'' using the following criteria: 1) Ability to conduct historical research and analysis using professional research methods and standards; knowledge of repositories of historical data and sources of information about Santa Barbara Mission, California Missions, Spanish settlement in Santa Barbara and other relevant data; experience in producing professional, well-documented historical reports, 2) Demonstrated experience in identifying, recording and interpreting historic archeological remains from the Spanish, Mexican, and early American periods of California, 3) Experience in identifying and analyzing historic construction materials and techniques, periods of construction, and building components, particularly from the Spanish Colonial period; ability to analyze a building or structure and site's evolution and alterations over time; ability to produce written building descriptions using generally-accepted architectural terminology, 4) Demonstrated experience in preparing successful National Register nomination forms for complex properties which integrate historical, architectural and/or archeological resources and contexts, and 5) Cost.
