The Government's minimum requirement is that the contractor must have in-depth knowledge of the design of the SDR, in the areas of proprietary assembly techniques, brazing techniques, manufacturing processes, piece part designs and in the unique and specialized test equipment required to perform SDR testing. This procurement action will add the SDR tube to the current statement of work on the Continuous Wave Illuminator Traveling Wave Tube Engineering Services Contract N00164-94-D-0036 with Communications and Power Industries of Palo Alto California. The statutory authority permitting the proposed course of action is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The contract period of performance will not exceed five years.
