The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA., requires one Ampex DCRsi l07 Rack Mount System consisting of the following items: DCRsi l07 Rack mount system, Ampex part #1298270-01 (l each); slide assembly mounting kit, Ampex 130119l-01 (l each); handheld terminal with I/O adapter, Ampex 1294105-03 (l each); lab control and data cables, Ampex 1302332-0l (l lot). This procurement will be on an other than full and open competition basis with Ampex Data Systems Corporation, El Segundo, CA, or an Ampex distributor because Ampex is the only contractor who can provide a recorder which can read field test data previously recorded by Ampex airborne recorders during flight tests. The AMPEX recorders use a special tape format which is proprietary to Ampex. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for proposals.
