Plans and specifications can be ordered by fax at (402) 221-4530. The
work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Construct a
one-story 9,000 sf Family Support Center consisting of steel framed
walls infilled with either window wall (glass) or brick with metal stud
backup. The roof consists of a modified bitumen roof system on steel
deck and steel bar joist supported by a steel frame. Reinforced
concrete foundation and floor slabs. Primary HVAC system consists of
variable volume reheat system with central air handling units, hot
water heating coil, and a 2 stage evaporative cooling section. The
primary heat source will be a single gas-fired boiler for the majority
of the building, hot water unit heaters in miscellaneous areas, and
hot water base board radiation in rooms with exterior window and
exposures. The primary cooling system consists of a 2 stage
indirect/direct evaporative cooling section with an indoor cooling
tower. Electrical distribution and lighting with a 150 KVA transformer
(oil filled, pad mounted, compartmental type). Misc. work includes:
clearing and grubbing, site work, grading, landscaping, lawn sprinkler
system, bituminous pavement, concrete curb and gutter & sidewalks,
parking and area lighting, cathodic protection, piping, plumbing,
communications, utilities (gas, sanitary sewer, water, underground
electrical) fire detection system, insulation, gypsum wallboard,
acoustical ceiling tiles, carpeting, tile, doors, hardware, painting,
finishes, etc. The estimated construction cost of this project is
between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be
a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to
commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the
work 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions
will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete
the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be
required. Bid sets will be available on/a September 17, 1996. Half-size
plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests
for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14
days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished
if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets
be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the
responsibility of the requestor). Please list street address (for
