The Carderock Division Naval Surface Warfare Center has a requirement for continuous length instrumentation cable. The contractor shall provide all services and materials to fabricate the electrical cable as follows: Four government furnished high voltage coaxial cables- Type C ( 0.195'' max. dia.) plus 3 contractor furnished twisted shielded jacketed pairs (TSJPr) of #20 AWG. Above cabled together in 6 around 1 (TSJPr in center) with fillers as required with a clear mylar wrap and a 0.050'' wall of extruded polyurethane inner jacket to an electrical core dia. of 0.700''. A braided torque balanced Kevlar 29 tensile member with minimum break strength of 20,000 pounds and a braided polyester outerjacket to a final calculated dia. of 0.92'' and calculated weight in air of 368 pounds per feet and weight in water of 136 pounds per 1000 feet. Note: The TSJPrs have a pair of #20 AWG 19/#32 tinned copper center conductors each with 0.016'' wall of color coded polypropylene insulation, each pair wrapped with a clear mylar tape, braided tinned copper shield and a clear pressure extruded polyurethane jacket to a nominal 0.20'' TSJPr diameter.
