Enforcement Training Center will issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) o/a
9/9/96 of one firearms training simulator for use in the training of
basic and advanced firearms students. A sole source award will be made
for the Range 2000 Basic Laser System as manufactured by Electronics
Industries USA, Inc. of Colorado Springs, CO. The simulator must permit
the local user creation, editing and hard disk storage of digital
format multimedia scenarios for use in training law enforcement
students wherein students will function in a simulated real world
environment, reacting to audio and video information portraying various
levels of jeopardy. The students must respond with appropriate tactical
and use of force options. The system must be capable of sensing
individual student interaction with a laser equipped firearm, capable
of use in live fire training, and capable of adapting to a classroom
environment with multiple input and polling ability. These features
must be based on standard commercial multimedia state-of-the-art PC
technology with open architecture design and graphical user interface.
The simulator must be able to accept existing scenario material
through video tape or laser disk input for conversion to digital video
format and permit use of a variety of weapons with out permanent
alteration of the weapon. The simulator must be a current production
item - development items will not be accepted. Simplified acquisition
