This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00421-96-Q-1138 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The incorporated document and provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-37 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-10. The applicable SIC is 3874. The required items are to be solicited on a sole-source basis from MacSema, Inc., Bend, Oregon, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. See numbered note 22; however, since anticipated award will be made via Streamlined solicitation for commercial items procedures in accordance with FAR 12.603, all proposals shall be received within 15 days after date of publication of synopsis. The following is a list of the required Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN): CLIN 0001, 8700 each, Minibutton Memory, MacSema part number (p/n) BMWB2. Minimum requirements for CLIN 0001 are no internal power supply (i.e. battery), a storage capacity for 2 kilobytes of data in a small device (size of dime), has an EEPROM capable microchip, and has user friendly supporting software and operating rights favorable to the Department of the Navy. CLIN 0002, 5 each, Custom Button Reader, 512K, hand-held read/write data collector for Minibutton with Custom Read Tip, MacSema P/N RBRK 5+B+G+M+SPEC. Additional specifications include Backlit Display, Graphics Display, Splash Resistant, and include Custom Logo on Case. CLIN 0003, 3 each, Downloader, Single Station, MacSema p/n DSS2S. CLIN 0004, 3 each, Serial Cable, MacSema p/n CIBOO. CLIN 0005, 3 each, Transformer, MacSema p/n ATUM1. CLIN 0006, 3 each, Button Link, with Custom Read Tip for MiniButton, MacSema p/n RL1MO, requires read/write probe connecting directly to PC. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. In order to make this determination, it is requested that the offeror please provide the following information: 1) Was price obtained from a) Published price list and date (furnish copy) or b) Commercial catalog and date (furnish copy). 2) If neither a or b apply, please provide an itemized breakdown consisting of: cost of material, labor rates, job titles, and any other expenses that apply. This breakdown should be equal to the price you are quoting. Please provide any literature your company has on what you are supplying. This is a DO rated contract.
