SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY AND NO IMMEDIATE PROCURE- MENT OR RFP IS
ANTICIPATED FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. AMENDMENT 1, Extends submission date and
deletes Ombudsman statement. NASA Johnson Space Center is seeking
information on available, off-the-shelf air-borne or space-borne Ku-
and Ka-Band phased array or switched-beam antenna systems. A phased
array antenna is being considered for communications from a spacecraft
in low earth orbit to the Tracking & Data Relay Satellite (TDRSS) in
geosynchronous orbit. The desired antenna is low-profile and suitable
for flush-mounting or conformal-mounting to the exterior of the
spacecraft. An antenna must provide an EIRP (effective isotropic
radiated power of 49 dBW at Ku-band and 54 dBW at Ka-Band, and a G/T
(gain-to-temperature ratio) of 0 dB/deg K at Ku-band and 4 dB/deg K at
Ka-band. The antenna must meet the above requirements over a field of
view of +/-70 degrees in one plane and +/-50 degrees in the
perpendicular plane. High-grade commercial or Military Grade B parts
are acceptable for this hardware (S-level parts are not required).
Vendors who have existing designs or an existing product which is
compatible with or easily adaptable to these requirements are
