FISC Norfolk Det Philadelphia intends to procure maintenance for all Cisco software and hardware supporting the computer network LAN/WAN operations at the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP), Philadelphia, PA. The maintenance required includes preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance and on-call maintenance with an eight (8) hour response time during the principal period of maintenance of 0900-2100, Monday through Friday. Should NAVICP require maintenance outside the principal period of maintenance, a two (2) hour response time is required. The maintenance is required for the period 01 October 1996 through 30 September 1997 with four (4) one year options. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on an other than full and open competitive basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 with Cisco Systems, Inc. of San Jose, CA. Maintenance of both hardware and software requires modification updates by Cisco. These updates and required maintenance require access to the equipment's operating source code. Cisco is the only firm that can provide the required maintenance since they alone have access to the operating source code. All other responsible sources may submit concise documentation for consideration regarding their ability to provide the required maintenance as well as financial and technical information. If no affirmative written responses advantageous to the Navy are received within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of this notice, a request for quotation will be issued to NSC. FISC Norfolk Det Philadelphia contemplates the award of a firm fixed price contract. Note, no contract award will be made on the basis of information received to this notice. Further, the Navy will not pay for any information provided.
