The Air Force intends to issue a full and open competitive request for quotations to furnish all plant, labor, materials, equipment, tools, and transportation to perform all operations in connection with creating two new electrical metering loops outside of South Lab's building to meter lab's electricity use, located at MIT/LL, South Lab, Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. Principal items of work include, but are not limited to rerouting of the existing 13.8 KV feeders to the building, trenching, installation of underground conduits and wiring, pouring of concrete pads, installation of protective concrete posts, installation of 3 phase 13.8 KV primary meters with totalization capabilities in accordance with Boston Edison Company (BECO) specifications for primary metering in an enclosure. Contractor will have to commence BECO services to verify meters. A firm fixed priced purchase order is planned with an expected period of performance of 28 calendar days and a start date in September 1996. Magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. All interested organizations should respond in writing within 15 days of this notice. A site visit is tentatively scheduled to be on 10 Sep 96 and quotes are tentatively due on 17 Sep 96.
